The dust is settling, and the numbers are coming together from last week's 9th Annual Market & Johnson Employee Impact Fund (EIF) Trap Shoot Fundraiser. We had another record year as the event continues to grow! This event would not be successful without everyone supporting the EIF. Thanks to our many prize donors, our sponsors, and the excellent support from the M&J Board of Directors. Also, this event would probably not have happened without the leadership and coordination of our EIF workhorses, Sheri Harvey and Laurie Schuch. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you! We’re all excited to see how this event continues to evolve and add to our EIF that distributed $70,800 back to our communities in 2023.   Adding Value to Everything We Do

Construction Safety Week is wrapping up for 2024, and we’d like to take a moment to thank everyone who participated. With our OSHA partners, the Market & Johnson safety team conducted Safety Stand-Downs at sites across our region by stopping work and taking a break to talk about safety, focusing on fall hazards and fall prevention. Fatalities caused by falls from elevation continue to be a leading cause of death for construction employees, accounting for 395 of the 1069 construction fatalities recorded in 2022 (BLS data). At Market & Johnson, we’re committed to safety not only because it’s good business, reducing cost and work stoppages, but more importantly, to be sure that everyone goes home from our sites safe and can enjoy a good quality life after a career in some of the most dangerous professions. April is the month of the military child, so last month, two of our education clients, Tomah School District and Sparta Area School District, partnered to host a special luncheon dedicated to students connected to military members within both districts. This event signified local communities' support for our military members and encouragement for students whose family members are actively serving or have served in the military. WXOW has provided an update as construction continues at the La Crosse Fire Station #4. Two major upgrades within this building include a community room where CPR classes and fire extinguisher training will be held, as well as an increased amount of emergency equipment storage space, which is important for firefighters to be able to respond to critical events in a timely, efficient, and safe manner. One of our Superintendents, Chris Anderson, recently organized a topping-out ceremony at Onalaska Middle School. The 8th grade class signed the bottom of the beam, which Cary Specialized Services placed, shown in these photos. Our team enjoys allowing students to get hands-on involvement in projects like this; now, they will have memories to last a lifetime!   Adding Value to Everything We Do

Yesterday, Rural Electric Supply Cooperative (RESCO) cut the ribbon at a new 40,000 sq. ft. warehouse facility in Stanley, Wisconsin, welcoming over 100 representatives from member cooperatives to tour the new space. Market & Johnson is proud to have partnered with a design team from River Valley Architects, Inc. to build this facility, which will significantly benefit the community and surrounding areas by providing ample storage space for electric utility supplies and improving efficiency and response time for our local electric utility co-ops. Thanks to Chippewa Economic Development Corporation and Clark County Economic Development and Tourism Bureau for their work in welcoming RESCO to Stanley and finding them a suitable site. Situated on 15 acres on the east side of Stanley, the large plot also allows for future expansion of operations when needed. Adding Value to Everything We Do
